Any word on a Camp Randall date on the tour? Seems like Soldier Field is the closest they are getting to Wisconsin so far.

I also am enjoying the new record quite a bit. First three songs especially are a fantastic, but I wish it didn’t drag so much in the middle. It sounds great on vinyl.

I agree that many people hate U2 because of WHO they are, not what kind of music they make. People look at Bono and his glasses and his seemingly-constant reminder of their humanitarian work and think “douche.” But like him or not, he fronts one of history’s most powerful bands. That alone makes them still absolutely relevant, regardless of how good or bad their new album is.

Personally, I feel like U2 have made almost the same album three straight times now; I suspect they are less likely to take huge risks like they’ve done several times before in changing their so sound. And why should they? They’ve found something that clearly works. I’m certainly not going to hate on songs like “Beautiful Day” and “City of Blinding Lights,” as they are great songs.

I love the new U2. The haters of U2 have issues, unfortunately, beyond the music I believe.
