I became a fan of Early Day Miners with their 2005 release, All Harm Ends Here. That was such a perfect record. Since that release I somewhat lost touch with the group.

Today, I received word they have an upcoming album, The Treatment arriving September 22nd on Secretly Canadian. You can download “So Slowly” from the upcoming album below and catch the band on tour with MoB favorites and Milwaukee’s own Decibully!

Madison Concert Announcement: Great Lake Swimmers

MoB favorites Great Lake Swimmers return to Madison for a date at the University of Wisconsin’s der Rathskeller on Friday, October 23rd. If you’ve not yet checked out their new album, Lost Channels, you’re missing one of the year’s finest recordings. The song “Pulling On A Line” is definitely one of my favorite songs of the year.

Fans of Built To Spill have plenty of times to catch them this fall. The band will make stops in Madison, Chicago, and finally Milwaukee in September on the dates below. Yesterday our friends at Daytrotter posted a session with The Avett Brothers that was recorded at SXSW. It’s a great session of old and new, including “Laundry Room” from the upcoming record I and Love and You and the unreleased “More Of You.” Go get your four free MP3’s now.
