In last week’s podcast I spun a track from Lee Fields & The Expressions new album My World. Front to back, the album contains some of the best soul music I’ve come across in years, sure to please fans of Sharon Jones, Black Joe Lewis, and James Brown. Fields has received many accolades, but the best description I’ve come across nails him as “a bona-fide, 100%, unadulterated, pure, gut-bucket soul singer.”
