The Hold Steady or Black Joe Lewis

Two MoB favorites played Madison last night. Sadly, I missed both of them. Drop a comment and let me know if you caught The Hold Steady or Black Joe Lewis. What were the highlights of the show you saw?

The Holdsteady were fantastic. Thought the sound was overall better than last year (not that it would be the band’s fault either way- The Majestic sort of sucks for acoustics).

The Hold Steady were amazing last night. Best concert I have ever seen. Really great set list, blew away last year at Majestic. THey didn’t end with Killer Parties, only blemish on the night.

Here’s a complete setlist. I’m a huge fan of Hot Soft Light, so was glad to hear it. Also, really liked hearing How a Resurrections Really Feels. I enjoyed it more than last year’s show too.

Sorry I’m few days too late on this thread but Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears were AMAZING! There aren’t too many musicians out there who can play lead guitar and then also belt the blues/funk like Joe. Some bands take a couple albums to find their sound and identity but they came out of the box fully realized and ready to bring the funk…A band not to be missed live!
