Yesterday our friends at Daytrotter posted a session with The Avett Brothers that was recorded at SXSW. It’s a great session of old and new, including “Laundry Room” from the upcoming record I and Love and You and the unreleased “More Of You.” Go get your four free MP3′s now.
Speaking of Datrotter, did anyone catch their Barnstorming tour stop in Madison last night? How can you go wrong with free sets from Local Natives, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Catfish Haven, and Snowblink. Drop a comment if you made it out and fill me in on the details.

the show was supposed to start at six but SSLYBY’s bus broke down, supposedly in iowa. local natives played a very solid set, save for a bland cover of talking heads’ “warning sign.” the attic was hot and sweaty, but the bands i saw seemed to enjoy it and appreciated the crowd’s enthusiasm. i left after local natives around 12 (still no sign of SSLYBY), right as two lady cops showed up to usher everyone back inside the house.

the attic show last night was nuts because it was basically a house party with the most quality live music ever. they started pretty late but Local Natives totally blew everyone away. didn’t get to catch Boris Yeltsin though since it was 12:30 and Snowblink still had to finish their set, and we had to drive back to Rockford. grerat night though!
