Do you remember the 2007 release, The Besnard Lakes Are the Dark Horse? I was revisiting the album over the weekend as I’m pouring through my favorite albums of the decade. This one, as it was during it’s release, seems to be overlooked by many list makers.
The Besnard Lakes today announced they will release The Besnard Lakes Are the Roaring Night on March 9th via Jagjaguwar.. It’s being described as “a majestic, sprawling vision of guitar bombast and captivating pop experiments.” The album was recorded Jace Lasek’s studio on a “vintage 1968 Neve germanium mixing console used to record portions of Led Zeppelin’s Physical Graffiti.”
With steady announcements like this it’s hard to withhold our excitement for 2010.

Wow, this is exciting news. The first album is sorely underrated and I’ll be happy if this album is even close to as epic as the first one.
