On Tuesday night I gave a Pecha Kucha presentation at the Sugar Maple highlighting my personal concert going history. I’m quite sure I would fall out of favor with many of you had you seen/heard the tales of my previous adventures with live music.
Before the event Shopkeeper Ken was mixing up some amazing music, the majority of it was completely alien to me. That’s a good thing. There was one record in particular that I absolutely had to ask about. You’re looking at the artwork above. Jonathan Kane is a drummer who previously held court with the now defunct Swans. Jet Ear Party is a raucous mix of blues, boogie, and groove that was released last year on Table of Elements.
Below, download “Gripped,” the track that I was turned onto just days ago. If you like it you can be sure the rest of the record follows suit and there are three previous releases I’ve got to seek out myself.
