Wisco: A Tribute To Wilco’s Summerteeth — a music compilation featuring our favorite Wisconsin artists each covering a track off of Wilco’s 1999 LP, Summerteeth.
I am honored to provide you with our labor of love. The state of Wisconsin is overflowing with musical talent. So much more than could ever be captured in just one compilation like this. That being said, I thought about the records that meant the most to me. Ones that I absolutely could not live without. That record, for me, without a doubt is Summerteeth. But this creation is more about the musical talent within our state lines fleshing out these songs and making them their own. This compilation shines a bright light on Wisconsin’s finest by way of one of my favorite records.
The tracks are available for free as a high-quality digital (320kbs MP3) download/stream below, or grab the whole thing as one zip file. This project would absolutely not have been possible without the amazing help of every one of the musicians showcased here. Big thanks also go out to Dan Brielmaier for creating the artwork and Justin Perkins for mastering the project.
This is our gift to you, please enjoy it and share it with your friends. We would love for you to show your support of this project with a donation in any amount to the Wisconsin Humane Society. There’s tons of animals that could use our help. Thanks and enjoy the music.

Justin Perkins is probably WI’s best producer.
His track record of late has been pretty incredible.
Everything from Tenement to The Goodnight Loving to this.
Hope to hear more from him.

I am a long time lurker on your terrific site and decided that this was the right moment to say – thanks. I have now listened to Wisco twice straight through, and I will probably play it again before the end of the day. This comp is very well produced, and the players/bands from WI really do these songs justice – in a real way. Now, a donation to the Humane Society – just the one here in my home town, not yours. Again, thanks…

This has to be one of the most informative websites that I have been turned on to. We need to support good music along with the clubs & promoters that bring it to us.

.. and thanks to everyone who has been donating to help the animals at the Wisconsin Humane Society! We don’t receive any gov’t funding, so this is helping a great deal. Very cool of you to think of donating to help animals. On behalf of our four-legged friends, a round of a-paws to you all.

For a covers record, it’s a charming nod to Illinois’s finest, and one of our late greats, Jay Bennett. There would be no “Summerteeth” without Jay Bennett…. I do think he’d be proud of the spirit that went into this. I’ll still take “Being There” over “Summerteeth” anyday.
One day, Illinois would like to return the favor on “For Emma” if it holds up 8 years from now. ; )

Weighing in late, I’ve been listening to this quite a bit since you posted it. I love it. Great artists, great covers. As an additional perk, it reminded me how great an album Summerteeth is. I tend to forget about that one. I’ll listen to new stuff, live recordings, or go back to Being There, but Summerteeth always fell through the cracks. Not anymore. Thanks!

BRILLIANT!!!!
Fantastic. Really interesting interpretations all – a wonderful alternate universe version of this classic album.
Thank you for sharing so much. The full album link doesn’t seem to work anymore, but thank you so much for keeping the players open for the individual tracks. Wonderful site, also!
