Sat. Nite Duets

Posted on Friday 5 November 2010

Fans of Pavement, Silver Jews, Lou Reed and Harlem will want to pay attention to this post. I woke up to an e-mail from my friend Chris waxing on about Sat. Nite Duets. I downloaded their 2010 release, One Night Only (complete with naked Hamms beer drinking men in a shower album art). It’s a winner. Seriously, go grab that and their 2009 self-titled release here for free.

Tonight: The Black Swans + Chris DeMay @ Linneman’s

Posted on Friday 5 November 2010

We’re pleased to be presenting the Black Swans tonight at Linneman’s in Milwaukee. You may recall the glowing recommendation from Strand of Oaks of the Black Swans latest release, Words Are Stupid (Pitchfork calls it “haunted”). Recently, Drag City released a split 7″ vinyl of The Black Swans and Bonnie “Prince” Billy covering Larry Jon Wilson. We’re hoping they’ll be available at tonight’s show.

Milwaukee’s own Chris DeMay kicks the night off at 9:30 with help from Lisa Ridgely and Allen Cote. $8 gets you in the door. Too good to pass up and you’ll thank us on the way home. See you soon.
