Athlete is a UK band that I absolutely LOVE – they’re playing the Shattuck Auditorium in Waukesha on April 7th.
Unfortunately, its an opening gig for a crappy pseudo-Christian positive punk outfit “Switchfoot”. Oh well, I guess I’ll have to leave early.
Anyway, I seem to be having a very hard time finding info on how to buy tickets. If anyone out in the Brookfield/Waukesha/Burbs area knows anything, please e-mail me at andyscho@yahoo.com.

Alverno College and Milwaukee folks–the 17 Hippies are great! They have played the Willy Street Fair 2 years in a row and they are high energy, big fun! Sort of Gogol Bordelloish/Berlin Cafe music with a touch of big band. And there are 17–or close to it. They play every kind of music and instrument.

I saw Blueheels out here in Boston, when they came to play with our own Sarah Borges and the Broken Singles. I thought they were great and keep hoping they’ll head back east sometime.
I’m hoping to see Bottle Rockets, if they would head east also.
I saw The Hold Steady, Old ’97′s, Steve Earle and would see them again. Missed Justin Townes Earle and Cracker (separately). Next time, for sure…
I’m also looking forward to Son Volt and Dino Jr in the fall. I’m on the fence about Arctic Monkeys.
