You may recall the creepy/bizarre video I posted from Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros last month. As I said in that original post, their debut at SXSW this year was one that had all of Austin talking. Rightfully so. As a result, the band has signed on with Community Music and Fairfax Recordings for the release of their debut album, Up From Below.

Their sound recalls the late 60′s and front man Ed Sharpe has one of the best new voices in music. If you’re looking for a great new band with an album I have no doubt will be a huge success, go ahead and pick up a copy of Up From Below. You won’t be disappointed.

Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros :: Desert Song

I first learned of Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros via the NPR SXSW recap. Since then, scouring the internet hasn’t turned up too much in the form of released material.

Today, they released Part 1 of this creepy/bizarre 12-Part feature-length movie musical and announced their debut album, Up From Below will be arriving on July 14th. If you can make it past the chanting at the beginning of video, they music’s pretty great.
