Tonight we’ll be seeing Bon Iver for the last time in 2008. We’ve already put together our list of favorite concerts of 2008, our favorite songs of 2008, and will be dropping our favorite albums on you Monday.

I’m starting to look towards some shows at the beginning of 2009 that I’m most interested in and one that rises to the top is the combination of two Athens greats, Vic Chesnutt and Elf Power. Chances are you may already have gotten a listen to their recently released collaborative, Dark Developments. It’s been a perfect soundtrack to the continuing presence of snow here in Wisconsin.

Watch the songs on Dark Developments come to life with a live performance at the High Noon Saloon on Friday, January 30. Elf Power fans should arrive early for an individual set of their material. Take a listen to some tracks below.
