Bon Iver recently passed through Boston before heading over to Europe, where his tour begins tomorrow in the UK. While in Boston, the members of Bon Iver harmonized on the Jayhawks “Tampa To Tulsa” from their fantastic record Rainy Day Music.

A new year begins with a number of new releases that we’re interested in hearing in 2009. We’ve been anticipating the official release of the reunited Gary Louris & Mark Olson whose Ready for the Flood will be released January 27th, 2009 on New West Records.

This collaboration is one that is sure to please the Jayhawks faithful. After spending a solid couple of months driving around with this record, I feel comfortable recommending it to all of you. My favorite track on the record remains the second track, “Bicycle,” which aptly describes the difficulty of riding your bike past dark, sans light. True enough!

A month’s worth of tour dates are slated for February, including a stop at Park West in Chicago on Friday, February 20th. Until the album drops, grab a taste of what’s to come with the free and legal download of “Doves & Stones” below.
