Kudos to my friends over at WMSE 91.7FM who announced yesterday the inaugural Radio Summer Camp – “a four-day music festival and symposium taking place at venues throughout Milwaukee from Thursday, August 20th through Monday, August 24th.”

I’ve gotten a peak behind the curtain and I can tell you they have some amazing stuff going on over the four days, so do stay tuned to their blog for updates. Until then, pimp the line up for The Backyard BBQ which goes down at Cathedral Square park from 11AM – 9PM on Saturday, August 22nd, “mixing some of Milwaukee’s best with great national touring acts.”

Justin Townes Earle Wisconsin Dates

Posted on Friday 1 May 2009

Seems like Justin Townes Earle was just within the state line. Looking at the recently announced tour dates, Justin Townes Earle is a big fan of the state of Wisconsin. Got a thing for the casinos too! Not sure what/which casino the two Milwaukee dates are. I’m thinking he’s just doing a three night stint at Oneida, but I get he could swing through Potawatomi for a two night stand. We’ll keep you updated.

Justin Townes Earle Wisconsin Tour Dates:

Jun 16 – Barrymore Theatre Madison, Wisconsin
Aug 22 – The WMSE Backyard BBQ Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Aug 23 – Oneida Casino Oneida, Wisconsin
Aug 24 – Oneida Casino Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Aug 25 – Oneida Casino Milwaukee, Wisconsin

On of the best releases of 2008 was Justin Townes Earle’s The Good Life. Justin Townes Earle’s second album Midnight At the Movies arrives next month (March 3rd) via Bloodshot Records.

In high anticipation we’ve once again teamed up with our friends at 91.7 WMSE for a very special listening party at Burnhearts on Tuesday, February 24th from 7pm – 10pm. We’ll have cheap beer, exclusive giveaways, and Rushmor Records in the house selling copies for all you hard-cores.

Until then, grab a free and legal download of “Mama’s Eyes” from the upcoming album below and don’t forget that Justin Townes Earle will be out supporting Jason Isbell including a Madison date at the High Noon Saloon on Thursday, April 16th.

Two MoB favorites, Jason Isbell + Justin Townes Earle will play the High Noon Saloon on Thursday, April 16th.

Both Isbell and Earle have upcoming releases in 2009. From what I’ve heard of Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit’s eponymous album, I cannot wait to hear the new live material live. Go here to grab a MP3 of “Seven Mile Island” from Jason’s upcoming record.

Chicago friends, see them both on Friday, April 17th at the Double Door. Everybody else, pimp the full tour dates here.
