Many were looking forward to Alejandro Escovedo unleashing his Real Animal at this weekend’s Madison Roots Festival. Sadly, due to medical restrictions, Alejandro had to withdraw from his performance. We wish him a speedy recovery and since we’re on the subject, Alejandro’s got the video blog thing going. Last month I dropped the news on ya that G Love & Special Sauce and the John Butler Trio would be headlining the Madison Roots Festival on Saturday, August 2nd at Willow Island.

The line-up got bolstered as promised with the additions of Alejandro Escovedo, Tristan Prettyman, Dar Williams, Clyde Stubblefield and Natty Nation.

This will be Mr. Escovedo’s second stop through Wisconsin summer, which is great considering he’s releasing Real Animal, one of our most anticipated releases of the year on June 24th via Manhattan Records.
