There was a ton of great music going on in Madison last night. The Cool Kids returned to Madison to a huge crowd at the Majestic Theatre. Muzzle of Bees photographer Ed Oliver was there and brought back the stunning images you see here.

Tonight: The Rural Alberta Advantage + Roadside Graves

Posted on Saturday 22 August 2009

I’m thrilled to be co-presenting tonight’s fantastic triple bill of The Rural Alberta Advantage + Roadside Graves + The Daredevil Christopher Wright with my friends at the WUD Music Committee. Anyone who caught The Rural Alberta Advantage last night at the Cactus Club in Milwaukee will tell you they put on an amazing show. It was one of the best I’ve seen all year. Easy.

This free event lifts off around 8:30 and I would highly encourage anyone not familiar with the opening bands to get there early. I promise you’ll be impressed. There is a ton of great music going on in the city of Madison tonight, so choose wisely and enjoy whatever you check out.

It had been some time since we’d been to the Annex for a show in Madison. The great double bill of The Starlight Mints & Evangelicals came to Madison and Muzzle of Bees photographer Ed Oliver was on hand to capture some photos. If you’re a Starlight Mints fan, new record Change Remains is out digitally now, with a physical release to follow on July 21st. I’m hoping there is a new offering from the Evangelicals soon. It’s been some time since The Evening Descends, and I’m hungry for some new material.

Drop us a comment if you caught the show last night.

Photos: School of Seven Bells + Black Moth Super Rainbow

Posted on Friday 22 May 2009

School of Seven Bells showed up to the High Noon Saloon last night and ended up playing one of my favorite shows of the year. I was a skeptic at first because the inclusion of a giant visual screen backdrop can, at times, be a distraction, not an aid. That wasn’t the case for either band last night. Both bands were great, best in show goes to School of Seven Bells, but best in moving pictures goes to Black Moth Super Rainbow whose mixture of the obscure and frightening provided many WTF moments.

Check out the photos from Ed Oliver and, as always, drop a comment with your thoughts/reviews on the show.
