Sat. Nite Duets

Posted on Friday 5 November 2010

Fans of Pavement, Silver Jews, Lou Reed and Harlem will want to pay attention to this post. I woke up to an e-mail from my friend Chris waxing on about Sat. Nite Duets. I downloaded their 2010 release, One Night Only (complete with naked Hamms beer drinking men in a shower album art). It’s a winner. Seriously, go grab that and their 2009 self-titled release here for free.

Eric & Magill :: All Those I Know

Posted on Monday 18 October 2010

I’ve never met Ryan Weber. From his work with Decibully to his assistance with our Wilco tribute album, he’s a friend I really need to meet. Months ago he shared his new project Eric & Magill with me. I listened to the completed album, All Those I Know twice through immediately. It travels many genres from folk to electronic under a warm blanket of guitar fuzz. This is a record so special that I’m certain it will be the next great thing to go beyond the confines of cream city. So get on board right now. The entire record, All Those I Know is available right now as a free download.

Listen to the entire album here:

Video: Conrad Plymouth + Juniper Tar – “Fergus Falls”

Posted on Wednesday 3 March 2010

Our friends Conrad Plymouth are in the studio right now here in Milwaukee. We’re quite fond of the band. They’re making the trek down to Austin for SXSW with us. We’ve shared our love of their track “Fergus Fallsin the past, but, in remembering how great their set was at our 5-year anniversary show, we had to share Dan’s video of the song with special guest appearance by Ryan Schleicher of Juniper Tar. Wait for the head-butt at the end.

Conrad Plymouth + Laarks play Club Garibaldi in Milwaukee on Saturday, March 13th. Be there.

Radio Summer Camp :: Muzzle of Bees Stage (Saturday)

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Cactus Club last night for our first night of bands at Radio Summer Camp. It was one of the best nights of the summer, if not the year.

Tonight, we get local, showcasing two of my favorite Milwaukee bands, Decibully + The Celebrated Workingman plus The Smith Westerns in town from Chicago.

Of course, that’s not all that’s going on. You should also make the Radio Summer Camp Backyard BBQ your mid-day destination for free BBQ and jams courtesy of Paul Cebar, Cedarwell, The Championship, Joe Pug & Justin Townes Earle. That’s a free event folks taking place at Cathedral Square Park in downtown Milwaukee.
