A great triple bill invaded The Annex in Madison last night. We’ve long been fans of Throw Me The Statue and though I’ve yet to hear their new album Creaturesque, it’s on my list to pick up.

It’s been awhile since we checked in on The Brunettes. The last time we crossed paths was two years ago when they opened for Ferraby Lionheart at the High Noon Saloon.

We’re gearing up for the new record from Secretly Canadian artist Throw Me The Statue. We were so fond of their 2008 release, Moonbeans, that it ended up being one of my favorite albums of last year, with “Lolita” also cracking our list of 50 favorite songs from last year.

A couple weeks ago we announced their upcoming show in Madison and gave you the first download off the forthcoming album, Creaturesque which hits the streets August 4th. Below, you can download another new song, “Hi-Fi Goon,” which continues to build my appreciation for the new album.

I am super excited for the follow up, Creaturesque, coming August 4th. In support of the new album, the band is hitting the road, including a stop at the Annex in Madison on Friday, August 28th with The Brunettes. At least the shitty venue is offset by the bargain price of $8.
